Oral History Interview With Maya Kamble

DESCRIPTION
This interview was conducted as part of SAADA's ACFP 20/21. The interviewee discussed her journey from India to USA. She also explained how she created space for herself in the Ambedkrite community in USA. She explains how she related the importance of paying back to the women from oppressed communities in India would benefit in annihilating caste. She uniquely situates role of Ambedkar in the lives of oppressed communities like a mother, which goes beyond gender. She discusses about role of female Ambedkarites in empowering women.

It is part of the Women Empowerment Program of AANA. Maya Kamble leads the program of women empowerment where she takes the responsibility of discussing it at various forums in USA and conduct regular mentoring workshops with women in India. It is considered as one one the important activity to annihilate caste.
