Oral History Interview with Nita Mehta

DESCRIPTION
Nita Mehta completed her early education in Gujarat, India; she later studied integrated medicine. Her career started as a residential doctor for the tribal people living in the villages in Gujarat, where she worked for two years. After getting married in 1958, she moved to Mumbai and continued to practice medicine. Mehta came to Houston in 1981 and soon became involved in voluntary work with religious organizations. While in Houston, she obtained a degree as a technologist and treated patients. She is very active in the Indian Senior Citizens Association, which has over 600 members.
