Oral History Interview with Mohinder Paul Mehta

DESCRIPTION
An educator, Mohinder Paul Mehta moved to Canada from Lahore, Pakistan (formerly India) in 1964, on receiving a teaching position in a school at Leask, Saskatchewan. Yearning to teach at an university, he took a doctoral degree in English from University of Montana in 1970, and taught English at Minot University, North Dakota. Eventually he rose to the position of Dean of the College of Education and Human Resources. He was involved in politics and became the Co-Chair of the Democratic Convention in 1984. Mehta moved to Houston after he received an offer of Dean at Prairie View A&M Unversity; Mehta remained there for 21 years. Motivated to serve the community, Dr. Mehta became involved in the India Culture Center, where he was its President and Trustee. He was also one of the founders of the Punjab Culture Club.
