DESCRIPTION
The April 1918 issue of Young India (Vol. 1, No. 4) featured the following articles: "The International Importance of India" and "The New Internationalism" by Lajpat Rai, "Routes to India" by N.S. Hardiker, "India, a Self-Governing British Dominion" by Henry Hotchner, "Liquor and Christianity" by J.T. Sunderland, and "Humanism in Hindu Poetry" by Benoy Kumar Sarkar. "The New Internationalism" by Lajpat Rai is a speech that was delivered at the International Dinner organized by the People's Council of America with the Conference of Radical Socialist and Labor organizations, held in New York on February 16 and 17, 1918. A poem by Satis Chandra Roy titled "In Love with Terror," and a section on "Economic Notes" by Dixi are also printed in the issue.
The Officers for the India Home Rule of America for 1918 are listed as follows: Lajpat Rai (President and Treasurer), J.T. Sunderland (Vice-President), K.D. Shastri (Organizing Secretary), N.S. Hardiker (Executive Secretary). Councillors for the year are also listed: Henrietta Rodman of the India Group of the New York Civic Club, J.A. Setna, K.B. Kichlu, R.L. Bajpai, A.P. Warrington, H.K. Rakshit, and Sajjan Sing Sarna.
