"The Watmul Foundation"



DESCRIPTION
An article from The Indian Home magazine on the creation of the Watumull Foundation, headed by Gobindram J. Watumull and his wife Ellen Watumull and headquartered in Los Angeles. The article explains the purpose of the foundation as fostering "mutual exchange of cultural and educational achievements between the East and the West." The first two recipients of the Watumull scholarship are listed as Sir. S. Radhakrishnan and Professor Merle Curtie, a historian from the University of Washington. From December 1946.
