Mahatma Gandhi "Champion of Liberty" Stamp
On January 26th, 1961, the United States Postal Service issued 120 million 4 cent stamps and 40 million 8 cent stamps honoring Mahatma Gandhi in the "Champions of Liberty" series. The US was the second country in the world to issue a stamp honoring Mahatma Gandhi after India.
